Some of My Art
I love collecting old cobalt blue bottles. They look beautiful on the window sill with the light shining through them. The original is for sale and soon I will have prints and cards done of it.

It's all about the Heart!

I haven't posted anything in such a long time, but I am always checking out my favorite blogs to see what has been written.
Lately I've been learning about trying not to control everything, or should I say I am more aware of my need to control and now I want to change it. I am exhausted from swimming upstream and now I'm ready to go with the flow. The universe knows what I want, so I just have to surrender, trust, and most importantly feel positive, feel all is well, and feel grateful. How you are feeling is so important. That is how good things, people and events are drawn to us or they can be pushed away when we are fearful and negative. Yes, our choice of words are important, but I think our words are chosen from how we are feeling. Our thoughts and words will be positive if our feelings are positive. So, I am trying to choose things throughout my day that makes me feel good. I'll let you know how it goes.

A Day at the Beach

Yes, it is getting colder but nothing more enjoyable than heading to the beach with my dog Tanner. It was a beautiful sunny day and the tide was still out so I could rummage the beach for some small pieces of driftwood and maybe one or two pieces of sea glass, if I was lucky. I am so fortunate to be able to go to one of the many beaches in the area and enjoy the scenery, especially the ocean. It is quite a life and I hope I never get matter-of-fact about it.

Definitely a Fall day!

It's a rainy fall day and some of the newly coloured leaves can't handle the weight of the rain and are falling to the ground. I like rainy days once in a while. It's a good day to have a pot of homemade soup simmering on the stove and do some chores that I've been putting off because the weather was so nice. When it rains there is no pressure to go out and clean up the vegetable and flower beds and get the firewood piled inside for winter. That can be done tomorrow if the weather is nice.
The animals have found a place out of the rain, snuggled together on the furniture on the porch.
Tanner (the chocolate lab), Willie and Willow (the two white cats) will definitely miss that outdoor furniture when it has to come in. Even the chickens are huddled just inside the barn door hoping the rain will taper off soon so they can get back out there to do some more scratching in the dirt.
You really have no choice, rainy days are a time to slow down, relax a bit. We also seem to gravitate towards things that bring us "comfort". Our favourite slippers, hot chocolate and marshmellows, the old sweater or sweatshirt, or just crawling into bed with a good book....oh and don't forget Mom's homemade soup simmering on the stove.

New to Blogging
I've been reading blogs for quite a while now, and I have a list in my favourites and look forward to each day to see if there is a new entry, a new beautiful photograph. I've read blogs from all over the world of very talented women and I am amazed at how our lives, fears and hopes are the same. I write in an actual journal every morning so I figure it is about time I started a blog. I look forward to sharing my life on the farm, and my art, while I continue to read my favourite blogs on a daily basis.
